Boil-off gas from the refrigerated tank is compressed and sent to the refrigeration package for condensation. Liquid propane from the LPG plant is also sent to the refrigeration package for cooling before transfer to the propane storage tank. The refrigeration unit uses propane as a refrigerant to provide the required cooling effect.
Due to low starting current requirements, the start-up is done by VFD, which then switches over to DOL. VFD and switchgear, and the switchover logic are included in the scope.
String test at fabrication shop completed successfully for one compressor skid, including lube oil system, VFD, bypass gear using temporary MV/ LV diesel generators, water chiller for oil cooling, temporary PLC/vibration monitoring system, and switch room. Packages are delivered to Salalah with potential commissioning in March 2020.
